Light to Extreme Cat Urine Odour Removed

Most of the time we will find cat urine contamination within 3 to 4 feet from the walls. We find the urine using a special day or night light made to spot urine contamination in carpet and other surfaces, such as furniture and walls.

Cat urine has a very sharp odour

The smell is usually much stronger than dog urine in most cases. We find that because cats urinate next to walls, the urine will get behind the baseboard and behind the wall, which makes it more difficult to remove the odour completely.

Is Cat Urine Bad to Breathe Indoors?

Cat urine contains a high concentration of ammonia. The cat pee contains hydrogen and nitrogen. A small urine deposit will most likely not affect your breathing, but moderate to large pee deposits can affect your breathing.

The risk occurs when either there is an extraordinarily strong odour of cat urine in the room or when someone in the household has a respiratory condition, such as asthma or COPD. The amount of ammonia in a room that reeks of cat pee can irritate and eventually harm healthy lungs. Lungs that are already compromised, such as in someone with asthma, may be irritated by even a mild odour of cat urine, especially if they are frequently exposed to the odour.

Often, the cat urine contamination is not just on the top layer of the carpet as illustrated in the photo below.
